Addie's young life was an adventure, her parents were wealthy nobles from England, were amateur archeologists. Due to the fact that they had a lot of money, they were allowed to go places that normal people were not able to go. Before she was 9, she had been to more countries than people had their entire lives. The young girl loved accompanying her parents to the different locations, finding things that no one had seen for hundred's if not thousands of years.
During her 18th year is when everything changed for her, for the better if ever asked about it. During an excursion into Egypt with her parents, Addie stumbled on a hidden room in a cavern they were exploring. Giddy with excitement, the girl decided to see what was in there, so she can make her first discovery on her own without the help of her parents. The room was dark and Addie's flashlight barely did anything to combat the darkness of the room, but she pressed on anyway. Finding a hallway off to the side of the room, she went down it, being careful to not step or run into anything. After a few minutes, the hallway opened up into another large room, and in the middle, was a statue of a cat. The girl almost cried out with excitement, a statue in good condition in a room that no one had possibly been in since forever. She rushed to pick it up, and in her haste, forgot about the flashlight in her hand. She reached for it, letting go of the flashlight, which she sent flying in front of her. The object unfortunately reaching the statue first, glancing off it and started the statue falling, Addie dived, but was not quick enough to catch it. The stone cat shattered, a loud crash to echo through the empty room. Unbeknownst to Addie due to the dark, but the statue wasn't empty, a cloud of white, hidden by the darkness, rose from the wreckage and flew straight at the girl as she tried to gather the pieces.
Adeline felt strange, like suddenly sick to her stomach, but also good, like a warmness filling her up, suddenly the room wasn't so dark, and the silence not so deafening, as a matter of fact, she thought she could hear her parents calling for her. She tried calling back, but that is when she felt something hit her hard, like claws digging into her stomach, and then everything went black.
When she awoke, she was in her hotel room, her parents where in the other room talking with a strange man. Addie hurt, but not as much as she thought she would, so she stood up slowly, her body a bit stiff and went to go see her parents. Both sprang from their seats as she entered the room and they rushed to hug her. They were both extremely concerned but were happy she was up and about. After much coddling and making sure she was ok, the other man stood and bowed, introducing himself. Her parents explained his reason for being there, that she had gotten attacked by some wild animal that had made its way in, but because of the undisturbed location there was a lot of mold in there that caused her wounds to get infected and that she would be going with him to a specialized hospital to treat her. So after getting to spend some time together with her family, she departed with him.
The man, after they were away from her parents, stopped Addie and everything that happened. He told her that he was an Agent, sent to deal with a hollow in the area and while he had chased it into that ruin, she had been attacked by it. The hollow had been attracted to her due to a sudden spike in spiritual pressure that must have been trapped in that statue that she broke and was now residing in her. While he was trying to perform the ritual to bring her soul over, she had started to stir and wake up. Hearing her parents, he put her back to sleep and contacted his superior who told him to keep an eye on her. He then disguised himself as a doctor and intercepted her parents at the hospital they rushed her to and woke her up and used the excuse of poison so that it would explain her absence at least for awhile until they could come up with a better story.
For the next 10 years, Addie worked with the BSA on many different missions, the powers she received from the statue were accredited to the ancient Egyptian god Bast, giving her catlike powers that she has been developing ever since.
