We started out with cats... so here’s the dogs.
There’s two main “talent trees”, the dps, inugami, and the tank, ha-inu. Common to both though is that once killed, the dogs respawn as an onryō and can be used for attacks or possessions.
Hopefully you guys can decipher what I learn to say, otherwise just ask away
Yokai type: Inugami
When picking the Inugami type, you must be careful. The Inugami type is a loyal spirit.. until they are not.
Bond levels count and are obtained at twice the speed. If you do something that alligns with the spirits own will, it will start to follow you at a higher rate and vice versa.
Pack leader
- you are the alpha, the pack leader, the big honcho etc. All your inugamis will follow your orders without hesitation
Cruel or kind
- you must decide if your management style is kind or cruel
- A cruel leader would have his inugamis deal +10% damage per time this is picked (calculated after all other bonuses)
- A kind leader would have his ha-inus health increased by +10% per time this ability is picked
Pack member
- you may summon a rank 1 golem in the shape of a dog.
- This ability may be taken multiple times. Each time you may either upgrade your “golem” by 1 level or add a new member to your pack (starting at Lvl 1).
- Keep in mind that with each member of the pack will have its own opinion, ego score etc. Just because they are a member of the pack, doesn’t mean that they will obey you
Inugami
- fierce and ferocious. These dogs usually look big and scary. Ofte looking like one type of dog with a different dogs head on top, only held together with some string
Bloodthirst
- your inugamis go into a frenzy when they attack a bleeding target.
- When attacking a bleeding target, they recieve a +1 damage bonus per die. So 2d6 would be 2d6+2, 69d10 would be 69d10+69 etc.
Attack in a Pack
- Your inugamis are part of the same pack. When targeting an enemy, your inugamis recieve an attack bonus equal to the number of inugamis that are targeting the same victim. So 4 inugamis targeting a hollow would all recieve +4 on their attacks
Bite harder
- your inugamis gain a bonus when dealing unarmed damage equal to your strength bonus
Muscle dogs
- Inugamis recieve a strength score equal to your number of Inugami picks (calculated normally). This adds a bonus to unarmed attacks with stacks with Bite Harder
Onryō
- for each of your inugami/ha-inu that has been slain, they return to you in a spirit form, an onryō. These can be used to fire an onryō blast at a target. This attack is ethereal, ignores physical defenses and will phase through anyone who stands between them and their target
- An onryō blast deals the same damage as the rank summon (ex a rank 1 golem would deal 2d6 unarmed damage, a Lvl 3 golem would deal 6d6 etc)
- Once an onryō has been used, it will be unusable until you release your blade again (so if you have 4 ha-inus, use them to block damage, they die and return to your side as onryō and you then fire 4 blasts.. Well..you will have to seal and unleash your blade to be able to use it properly again)
Single minded Onryō
- Your onryōs can merge together to form one glorious all-destroying blast. Ex. If you had 4 Lvl 4 golems, each single golem would deal 8d6 but if you used this ability, you could deal 4*8d6 = 32d6 damage.
Fierce onryō blast
- your onryō damage die is upgraded from a d6 to a d8
- This can be taken multiple times with each time it will increase the die a step (to a max of d12)
Possess the weak
- a way to use onryō is to use them to possess other people.
- An onryō can only try to possess a target with lower hp than itself
- The possession is done via a willpower contest (the onryō uses your willpower save)
- A succesful possession allows the onryō to have a round of combat (6 seconds) using the targets stats, abilities, powers etc. After this round, the onryō counts as used in a similar fashion to onryō blast
- An unsuccesful attempt forces the onryō away similar to how it is used in an onryō blast
Improved possession
- your onryōs gain a bonus to possession checks equal to half the number of inugami picks
Ha-Inu
- Your Inugami appear as gentle and benevolent dogs. These are able to move around the battlefield and tank damage. Once a Ha-sinus health has been reduced to Zero or lower, it must retreat and can be re-summoned once the Zanpakutou has been released again.
Wings: your Ha-Inu gain wings and therefore flight equal to their land movement
Improved flight
- your Ha-Inu(s) increase their flying speed by their original land movement. This can be taken multiple times. Each time it adds the original land movement value to the flightspeed
Flames of revenge
- your ha-inu(s) gain flaming eyes. These eyes can be activated when their body takes damage. Flames will spring from their eyes and deal 50% of the damage they just recieved straight back to the attacker as fire damage
Improved Revenge
- your Flames of Revenge can now throw 100% damage back to their attacker
Fur armor
- you gain a physical damage reduction equal to your number of Inugami abilities
Improved fur
- your Fur Armor also applies to elemental attacks
Elemental Fur
- pick one element. Your dog summons will now have this elements color hue in its fur. Anyone attacking the summon will take 1d6 worth of (chosen element) damage. This can be taken multiple times and each adds an additional d6.
Fierce elemental Fur
- your Elemental Fur damage is increased to a d8. This can be taken an additional time to increase the die to a d10
