HISTORY
Born from a tryst between a Male Mortal and a Female Agent, Ariska's life was a happy one for a few years. That was until she was seven years old. During that time, she showed no signs of abilities beyond those of a normal human girl of her age that engaged in regular activity. She was very sporty, even tomboyish. But that day she'd come home from Soccer practice early with her father because she'd fallen and sprained her ankle.
That's when she saw him. In the kitchen as the pair entered. There was a large man standing in the kitchen, staring at the floor. Being a child, she didn't quite understand the signifigance, and as her father was gathering groceries in the car, he hadn't noticed yet. Moving around the island in the center of the kitchen, her heart nearly stopped and her breath caught in her throat as she saw the prone, burnt and bloody body of her mother on the floor lying in a pool of blood. The man's hands were stained with the blood as well.
Ariska let out a scream of terror which sent her father rushing into the house. He too saw the body, and immediately attacked the large man who still hadn't moved. Ariska didn't even see the slight movement of the man as her father grabbed a knife and lunged at him, but suddenly the man's fist had punctured her father's chest. Her breath caught in her throat, as she watched the life drain out of her father's eyes.
That's when she saw it... A sickle, lying on the floor. She ran for it, and grabbed it, lunging at the man, suddenly her ankle pain all but disappeared. She swung at the man, but he vanished without a trace in a puff of smoke, leaving her dazed and confused. When she realized she was alone, and that her parents were now dead at her feet, she broke down, sobbing and screaming. One of the neighbors heard and called the police. Ariska was taken into protective custody.
She was placed in home after home, her formerly kind, tomboyish demeanor turning rebellious and more feminine. By the time she was 14, she'd blossomed into an extremely attractive young woman. She knew she was as well, and used that appearance to search for the man that killed her parents. She hasn't found him yet, but she will. And once she does... He will die.
During her searching however, she was appraoched by a man in a suit, claiming to be from the FBI. He'd wanted to question her, take her in for some bogus claim. By then she'd discovered her powers, and was coming into her own with them and being the rebellious teen that she was, didn't want to go with him. She attacked. The battle was as short as it was savage, and in the end, she wound up on her back with a sickle pressed to her throat. She didn't beg. She didn't plead. She told him to do it. Use that sickle to send her to her parents.
The man hesitated, and she manifested her own sickle that she'd inherited from her mother. Renewing her attack, the battle would end the same way, but this time, there was no threat of death from the man. He asked her how she'd come across such a weapon, and when she told him, he offered her his hand, telling her that she'd found her family. She didn't trust him, but she was alive for now. Alive again to search for the man that killed her parents.
Over the intervening few years, she was offered training in all fascets of the art of war. From battlefield tactics to back room seduction, she was taught it all. She was told what her mother was. She was descended from literal angels, and they were warrior angels. She agreed to help them once her training was complete. She would repay the debt to the man that spared her life. To the beings that showed her that even those with power need to have oversight. She'd become part of that oversight. Live up to what she was told her mother was.
She knew now that her parent's murderer had to be a metahuman of some sort. She knew how her powers worked, and she theorized that whoever that man was, he represented exactly what she'd be fighting against. So now she fights. She patrols for rogue supernatural threats, and always searches for the man that killed her parents.
