So.. Let's face it. I am a massive nerd that likes to mix everything into my games. I will have saiyans donning hollow masks, fairy tail mages sailing on the seven seas looking for the Two Piece (That's like.. one more than the One piece. Ergo it MUST be more valuable ) superheroes dying only to train with King Kai and being resurrected as a shinigami or the likes.
Now.. Where do I get inspiration from? I read a decent amount of litterature. Manga, stories, movies/shows.. all sorts of stuff. Including (and this is where it will get interesting) something called light novels.
These stories are usually translated from chinese (at least those that I read) and end up in the thousands of chapters. This is amazing if you are into these kind of things. Which I am.. and also the reason that I want to add it to the classless multi-verse.
"But what are these light novels that you are talking about Niro?" An excellent question dear reader. You see, I want to incorporate the genre xianxia since I believe that it could be an excellent addition to it all.
From wikipedia: Xianxia (genre) (Simplified Chinese: 仙侠小说; Traditional Chinese: 仙俠小說), is a type of Chinese Martial Arts novel genre developed from the Wuxia genre that was later influenced by Taoism. It was first introduced in the Republic of China and became popular worldwide in the 21st century. The Xianxia novel uses protagonists, typically known as "cultivators", who are actually Taoist or Buddhist. Contrary to the Wuxia genre, Xianxia novels have more elements of fantasy, complete with magic, demons, immortals, people who can fly, etc.
How is this not awesome? Fantasy elements like dragons, cultivating your spirit power, magic, spirit guides, magical weapons etc.
So what do I want to try and add? Well I want to hear if there even is an interest in this. I mean if you guys and girls are all "meh.. I'd rather we had a way to add.. I dunno.. minecraft elements" or something like that, well then I will naturally stop trying to add it here and just try and play around with some house-rules for my group of players.
But if you do.. well then I will try and make a list of interesting cultivation techniques taken from different novels and try to make them balanced so they will fit power-wise into the classless setting.
So far the novels that I sorta want to try my hands on are:
Spirit Master (Combat Continent): Basically unlock your souls true form and add power to it by abosrbing the souls of slain spirit beasts
Heavenly Jewel Master (Heavenly Jewel Change): you gain a physical gem (which boosts stats) and an elemental gem which will give you some sort of skill. This is then gained each 4th rank and stuff like that.
TL;DR: I want to make a xianxia supplement. Yay or nay?
So who is up for trying to make a community supplement?
