Alright so school is finally out and work has stabilized, I've been itching to possibly run something in this system again but still wanting more out of Kido. Low and behold I find the Spheres of Power system to be a possibility but there are a few catches. I'll post my area's of concern together and then my current working ideas under that.
Issues:
1. How often should I look at granting talents?
2. Should effects that don't have Spell point cost have a reiatsu cost?
3. Reiatsu cost for a spell point?
4. Some spheres might be outside the scope of Kido.
My current solutions
1. Was thinking sticking to a high caster in the system starting your caster level when you gain Spellcasting. You would gain 3 talents then and then 1 per level with a feat to pick up an extra 1-2. The other option for a more ready number of effects would be the Incanter s Chart meaning 4 at first level then +1.5 each level.
2. I was thinking of even having base effects simply cost 10xCaster level in Reiatsu or Caster level if using simplified.
3. Almost all class gain 1SP per level + Casting mod. Being that bleachd20 uses Reaitsu as its power source I was looking for a cost to apply spell points to effects. Since these are really the power of casting I was thinking either having each spell point add the same amount to the spells cost or if opting not to have cost on basic effects 2x caster level per SP.
4. Easiest on here would simply be to not allow any Spheres or Talents that don't line up well. IE remove the Technomancy and Fey spheres outright reduce options from others as needed to fit the setting.
