Going off my own experiences, this game has allowed for many chances to feel like a badass. What are some of yours?
I think my personal favorite is from one of my Friend's Campaigns in which I had the chance to be a player. My character, a Living Shinigami whose greatest strength was his Spellcasting (He couldn't use his Zanpakuto very well until he finally achieved Shikai, much to the chagrin of his Zanpakuto Spirit). He had recently become a Heartless Acolyte in an attempt to become stronger. You gotta be strong to defend your friends after all, right?
Well, after a small fight with some hollows that ended with him hardly able to get a hit in before the rest of the party mopped the floor with them, he ran off on his own. He ultimately decided to return to his Childhood home, and was confronted by a Giant Hollow. Believing this to be the lost soul of the man who murdered his parents, he jumped into battle. This almost proved to be costly, as the Hollow ended up nearly killing him in one hit.
From there, he began fighting defensively. Constant uses of Flash Step to aid in dodging, and even making room to take a health tablet and recover Reiatsu at certain points. The situation was tense, but he was beginning to turn things around. But then, when a punch from the hollow was about to connect, another blade parried the blow, and from behind a Heilig Pfeil ripped through the air and the Hollow's leg. When my character was nearly floored, his Zanpakuto Partner sensed the impending doom and dragged the rest of the party over. My character yelled at them to stay back, as to him he had to win this fight alone.
After a few more rounds of going back and forth, a final blow was struck on the Hollow. And that was when Griffith Ken'ichi proved he was a badass. Without Shikai or spells, but with persistence and luck he defeated an enemy that should've killed him.
