"It's that time of year again True Believers!" Stan Lee says over the loudspeaker.
"I'm just here to Welcome you to New York ComicCon!" He says in his trademark New York Drawl "Excelsior! And have a blast everyone!" He calls out as the doors open to allow the public in.
Each of you is there for different reasons, but you are all here in New York at New York Comic Con.
For Dean Hawker and Kazumi Noitoya, it was a good way to get away from the normal grind of their days. They'd gotten tickets in the mail with an invitation to the event. For Kazumi it wasn't any skin off her nose to buy tickets, but who could pass up a free ride?
For Brian Korot and Jeremy Reynolds, it was a reunion of friends. With an amazing stroke of luck, Brian had recently been the only person in winning the largest Powerball payout in history after almost 6 months of people vying for the prize, he'd won a grand total of $932,567,964 after Taxes and the government taking part of his winnings. With that money, he'd made it a point to hit every Comic, Anime or Video Game convention he could, retiring at the ripe old age of 38. Currently, he'd flown Jeremy in to join him in the conference as the latter wasn't working currently due to a Tax issue.
For Samantha Peterson, it was a different matter. She looked up from her scribbling and heard the announcement from Stan "The Man" Lee about the start of the conference and sighed. She didn't know what she was doing out here, but her father had said he wanted to branch out, and sent her here to assist another artist that was quite famous named Sara Pichelli* in drawing Spider-Man photos. She was on the clock, and since her art style was similar to Pichelli's, she was tasked with quick drawings that would be given to the artist to sign for the fans.
As people began to enter the conference, all sorts of people came out of the woodwork, cosplayers were running rampant, artists were plying their trade, and all the major companies were showing their new titles for the next year.
Dean and Kazumi walk in through the front area, presenting their tickets and being ushered to a VIP area, as per the passes they'd received.
Brian turns to Jeremy and says "This is gonna be great!" he says "First Conference and we've got VIP passes!" He says presenting their tickets, as they too are ushered to the VIP area.
In the VIP area, Jeremy, Brian, Kazumi and Dean are regaled with swag as they enter, each receiving a large bag of cool shit from the various companies. There are several people already there, and several more enter, including minor celebrities, none of which I'm going to name at the moment, but include several artists that aren't plying their trade on the show floor.
*Sara Pichelli is currently the artist drawing Miles Morales' Spiderman Comic as of February 2016
--------------------------------------------------
[OOC: If you guys want to do anything before entering the VIP room, please feel free to conversate. Kazumi and Dean don't know each other, though they are from the same city, as they are from different boroughs. Also, Samantha, don't worry, your VIP pass is coming. You're just starting plying your trade first]
